Amber J Sena is a North American artist residing in Germany. Originally born in 1980 and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico she attended NMHU on full scholarship, earning her BFA with honors in 2003. In the Summer of 2004 Amber was hired as Art Director at Rancho Valmora High School, a residential treatment/educational facility in Watrous, NM. Here, she spent 3 years as Art Instructor as well as organizing events and currating exhibitions for her students. Along with a scholarship in 2007, Amber was accepted into the Masters Program at the New York Academy of (figurative) Art in Manhattan, graduating with her MFA in 2009. Following this, Amber was hired by the NYAA as a CE Life Drawing Instructor and also taught Life Drawing at the New York Film Academy.
In 2013 Amber relocated to Berlin, Germany to live and work solely in her studio. Upon living abroad, she started a family with her fellow artist husband and maintained a consistent flow of studio practice and European gallery representations. In 2015 Amber’s work was represented alongside the Venice Bienalle at Palazzo Mora, Venice Italy. Amber now resides with her family in South Germany.
